Alessandro Bassi

I’m Alessandro, founder and guide of Verona Local Dreamer. Born and raised in Verona, I have always been fascinated by the history, culture, and flavors of my city. Over the years, I turned this passion into my profession, creating tours that go beyond the usual tourist routes.

With me, every itinerary becomes personal: from exploring roman and medieval villages and hidden corners to tasting local wines and discovering authentic traditions. My goal is simple — to help you experience Verona as if you were a local, with warmth, curiosity, and unforgettable stories.

Alessandro was a fantastic tour guide, we loved our first 2hr walking tour of Verona so much that we did another 5th tour of Lake Garda and surrounding villages a few days later and it was fantastic. Great value for money and he was such a passionate and knowledgeable guide who loved his city and region and was fantastic to spend time with. Highly recommend to anyone, thank you Alessandro!

Alessandro was amazing for my day tour of Lake Garda from Verona. He was very accommodating with my pickup/drop off and we started the day with a gorgeous view of Verona from above. It’s off season in Lake Garda so I was able to see some of the more popular spots with no crowds which was amazing. I had no real plans and let him take the reigns on everything to see and couldn’t be happier ☺️ grazie mille

My wife and I spent the day with Alessandro Bassi today and the whole experience was incredible. He contacted us the day before through WhatsApp to learn what we were interested in and review details.

He showed up exactly on time at our hotel and off we went. He was a skilled driver, story teller and historian. We learned so much about the history and culture of Verona. Alessandro himself is an experienced world traveler and his English is perfect.

Some highlights of our day were a visit to a remote hilltop village with a church positioned over a Roman cistern, and a gourmet sandwich lunch on the banks of Lake Garda. He was an excellent host and ambassador of all things Veronese. Make a day with Alessandro the first thing you do when you get to Verona.

If you want to experience a truly wonderful day with an extraordinary guide, book a day with Alessandro. It is money well spent. He customized a day for us to see his favorite spots on and around Verona and Lake Garda. We requested Off-the-beaten track areas near Lake Garda to avoid the crush of tourists and we were thrilled with the spots he took us to. Alessandro is an immediately likable guy who knows and loves his native land. The day spent with him was a highlight of our month in Italy.

We had an absolutely amazing time in Verona! Alessandro is an incredible guide with a true passion for the city and an impressive depth of knowledge. He shared fascinating historical details that most other guides wouldn’t even mention. Many people think Verona is just about Romeo and Juliet or the Arena, but Alessandro showed us there’s so much more to discover in this beautiful city. And the delicious meal we had at one of his recommended Osteria’s was the perfect finishing touch. Absolutely delightful! Highly recommended!

Our first time in verona. My wife booked alessandro and the tour garda / verona. . We were both very glad that she did. . We began with a little drive around verona on a sunday morning and alessandro pointed out great places to eat , historic sites. We then headed over to lake garda through the wine region and visited two or three local villages on the shores of garda. Treated to some fine wine and local produce. Aleesandro s local knowledge was invaluable and amazing. Got back about 6pm. Tired but happy. We cannot recommend alessando enough , kind courteous and the experince eas so much better than us just woandering aimlessley around. Five stars well deserved

Prior to our first visit to Verona, I connected with Alessandro about booking a day for us including Lago di Garda and wine in Valpolicella. He was terrific in communicating prior to our scheduled day with suggestions for our itinerary as well as general suggestions for our stay in Verona. The day was flawless and included some unexpected stops and pivots along the way that were lovely and appreciated. Do yourself a favor and book an experience with Alessandro, he will curate the experience around your interests.

We booked a tour with Alessandro to tour Lake Garda. We could not recommend it enough. From start to finish, we were amazed at the scenery, Alessandro's knowledge, and, of course, the wine! Alessandro does a good job of personalizing the tour and we were able to connect with him, which you do not get in every tour. It was a terrific experience and must do in Verona!

Alessandro is an excellent guide! He introduced us to Verona in a food walking tour - it was fantastic. His knowledge of this beautiful city, tips for places to eat and visit is 2nd to none. We enjoyed our time so much we arranged for Alessandro to take us on a day trip to Lake Gardia - just superb! He took us to places we would never have seen. Alessandro is very accommodating, punctual with a great sense of humour and is highly recommended.
